It's a classroom where the Scout is both student and teacher

With six experienced and knowledgeable Assistant Scout Masters. Each year, we typically do five to seven Merit Badges as a Troop during our Tuesday night meetings. Our schedule this year includes Merit Badges in kayaking, skiing, snow boarding, sustainability, nuclear science, robotics, wilderness survival and backpacking.

We Speak STEM in Troop 43

STEM–Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics is part of an initiative the Boy Scouts of America has taken on to encourage the natural curiosity of youth members and their sense of wonder about these fields through existing programs. From robotics to nuclear science, Scouts can't help but enjoy the wide range of STEM-related activities. Troop 43 along with Professors at HOPE College have already organized several highly successful Merit Badge Weekends with more planed in the future. During these STEM weekends Scouts have studied engineering, nuclear science, electronics and sustainability.
