At Troop 43 we get outside...

Surprise, we like to get outdoors. It makes for a more interesting program and it benefits the Scouts confidence. It allows them to both learn and lead in unique circumstances. Our enriching, well-rounded program puts the Scout in places he never thought he'd go. Our Troop was chosen in the national lottery to attend Philmont Scout Ranch late July 2017. It will be our fifth visit to the famed Scout High Adventure in 10 years. Last time we were there in 2014 we covered over 85 miles in 11 days and scaled 4 major peaks with the highest elevation being just under 2 miles. Now that's outside. To learn more please look at the “ABOUT” section.

We get inside as well...

During 2013 nine members of Troop 43 earned their Eagle Scout with three receiving Palms. During 2014, five more became Eagles and in 2015 seven more achieved the rank of Eagle. We had a quiet 2016 by comparison with only 2 making Eagle. Our success rate is very high, much higher than the national average for one simple reason. We give the Scouts an interesting program and they respond. It's that simple.
